The inaugural Tianjin Green Development Exchange Conference established a dedicated platform for foreign-invested enterprises to stay informed about China’s evolving green development agenda. 2023 – Second Edition

Building upon this foundation, the conference shifted its focus from policy interpretation to practical implementation. 2024 – Third Edition

The conference expanded beyond a single industry to encompass multiple manufacturing sectors. Participants were introduced to innovative energy-saving and carbon-reduction technologies, products, and best-practice case studies, showcasing successful sustainability initiatives from industrial enterprises.

2025 – Fourth Edition

With a broader focus on equipment upgrading and green transformation, the conference introduced live streaming for the first time and welcomed Green Value Co-creation Partners to further strengthen cross-industry collaboration and the exchange of practical sustainability experience.

2026 – Fifth Edition

As 2026 marks the first year of implementation of China’s Ecological and Environmental Code, the conference entered a new stage of development. For the first time, it adopted an invitation-only, closed-door format exclusively for foreign-invested enterprises, with attendance limited to 60 senior executives.

Discussions centered on compliance with the new Code, China’s dual-carbon governance framework, green talent development, and practical factory case studies. The event provided participants with valuable insights into addressing emerging environmental compliance and carbon-management challenges.

The opening keynote was delivered by Meng Tian, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Green and Low-Carbon Development Association at Peking University’s National School of Development.

Drawing on over 20 years of EHS management experience at Motorola, together with senior leadership positions at multinational corporations including Siemens and Novo Nordisk, Meng offered a unique perspective that combined regulatory insight with practical business experience. She also serves as a long-term expert advisor to LZConsulting.

Starting with China’s evolving environmental governance framework and extending to organizational capability development, she highlighted the importance of proactive compliance assessments, risk identification, and response strategies. Navigating Tianjin’s “Beautiful Blue Sky” Initiative and Environmental Performance Rating Upgrades

One of the most pressing environmental compliance challenges facing manufacturers in Tianjin this year is the upgrading of environmental performance ratings.

Drawing upon extensive local project experience, the General Manager of Tianjin Huanlianan Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. shared practical recommendations for navigating the latest requirements. “Ultimately, decarbonization depends on people.”The conference concluded with a thought-provoking session delivered by Wen Chengfeng, Director of the Cooperation and Exchange Committee of the China Anti-Aging Promotion Association.

Approaching sustainable development from a psychological perspective, Wen emphasized that successful green talent development requires more than technical expertise. Resilience, adaptability, emotional well-being, and the ability to manage workplace pressure are equally critical for sustaining long-term organizational performance.

By introducing practical approaches to strengthening psychological resilience, the session added a human-centered dimension to a program otherwise focused on policy, technology, and industrial practice.
